Home/Services/CCTV and diagnostics

Know what is wrong before you pay to fix it.

Camera survey, fault location and drain cleaning for sewer and stormwater. The step that decides whether a line needs a clean, a reline or a renewal, and the reason our repair quotes are fixed rather than hopeful.

Why it matters

Diagnosis is the job most people skip

Most drains that keep failing have been cleared several times and never once looked at. Clearing treats the symptom. Six months later it blocks again, because the cause is still there: a cracked section, a root at a junction, a belly holding water, or a fall that was never right.

A camera survey turns that into something you can act on. We run the line, locate the fault from the surface, mark its position and depth, and hand over the footage with a plain summary.

Sometimes the answer is a clean and nothing more. Sometimes it is a sectional reline, a full renewal, or drainage work upstream. Either way the quote is based on what is actually in the pipe.

Diagnostic work

01

CCTV drain survey

A camera run through the line, recorded, so the fault is seen rather than guessed at. Used where it will change the repair, not added to every job as a matter of course.

02

Fault location and depth

Sonde location from the surface, marking the exact position and depth of the problem so any excavation is one hole in the right place.

03

High pressure jetting

Roots, grease, silt and scale cut out of the line. Often the whole job, and always the step that lets the camera show the real condition of the pipe.

04

Root cutting

Root masses and build up cut out of the line with jetting heads, so the drain runs properly and a liner has clean pipe to seat against.

05

Pre-purchase drain reports

A survey before you buy or before a build starts, so a five figure drain problem is not discovered after settlement.

06

Condition reporting for projects

Documented pre and post condition for builders, strata and asset owners, in a format that stands up in a dispute.

Questions

The ones we get asked most

No. A camera goes in when it will actually change the answer, which usually means a recurring blockage, a drain that has never worked properly, a pre-purchase check or anything heading toward a relining or renewal quote. A straightforward one off blockage often does not need one, and we will say so rather than adding it.

The footage, a written summary of what was found, and the location and depth of the fault marked up. That is what an insurer, a strata committee or a builder needs, and it is what a fixed price repair quote is built from.

Usually yes. High pressure jetting with a cutting head removes root masses, grease and scale through an existing access point, with no excavation. Where a pipe needs specialist cutting beyond that, we bring in the right contractor rather than guess at it.

Yes. High pressure jetting clears the line so the camera has something to see, and in plenty of cases the clean is the job. Where the footage then shows a structural fault, we quote the repair separately so you are not paying twice for the same information.
