Old lines out. New ones in, properly.
There is a point where clearing the same drain twice a year stops being maintenance and starts being money thrown at a pipe that is finished. Renewal is the last time you have to think about it.
When renewal wins
The point where patching stops paying
Plenty of the sewer and stormwater around Newcastle and Lake Macquarie is original earthenware, laid in short lengths with mortar joints. Roots find those joints and ground movement opens them. Once a line has failed in several places, the economics change.
We camera and locate the full run first, then give you the comparison: what relining costs against a renewal, and how long each buys you. Sometimes relining is plainly the better answer, and we will say so.
Where renewal is right, the line goes back in modern PVC to grade, with proper bedding, new junctions and inspection openings where they belong. The finished work is documented and the as built detail comes to you in writing.

What we renew
Renewal work
Full sewer line renewal
House drain to the boundary shaft, replaced end to end in PVC to correct fall, with new junctions throughout.
Stormwater line renewal
Failed or undersized stormwater replaced and resized for the roof area it actually has to carry.
Boundary traps and shafts
Collapsed or missing boundary traps reinstated, with the inspection opening brought back to the surface where it should be.
New connections
Connecting a new build, granny flat or extension into the existing sewer and stormwater, with the paperwork done.
Sectional renewals
Where only one length has failed, we replace that length rather than sell you the whole run.
Detention and absorption
Rainwater tanks, detention systems and absorption trenches installed to the drainage plan and to council requirements.
Questions
The ones we get asked most
The camera survey answers it. Isolated cracks and root intrusion usually reline well. A line that has dropped out of grade, collapsed in several places or is badly undersized generally needs renewing, because relining a bad fall just gives you a smooth pipe with a bad fall.
A typical residential sewer renewal runs one to three days depending on length, depth and access. We give you the timeline with the quote, and the property stays usable in between.
Sanitary drainage work is carried out to the Plumbing Code and notified where that is required. A renewal does not attract a Certificate of Compliance, so what you get instead is the as built detail and the documented condition of the finished line. Anything requiring a Section 73 or building over a main is flagged before we start, not after.
We keep the excavation as narrow as the job allows, stockpile on boards, backfill and compact properly, and reinstate. Where reinstatement is going to be significant, it is priced in the quote rather than added later.
